UFC 107 set for early December in Memphis

UFC 107 will take place in Memphis, Tennessee in early December, according to mmajunkie.com. UFC VP of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner confirmed the news today. The event will take place at FedExForum, a 19,000 seat venue in Memphis.
No fights have been announced yet for the card, but logic indicates that one of the fights that is probable is the clash between the coaches of Season 10 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Rashad Evans and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Memphis’ is Jackson’s hometown, so having him headline would make the most sense. Additionally, “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 10 finale is on December 5th, so a date of December 12th or 19th would be likely for UFC 107.
Due to the way that Christmas and New Years Day fall this year, UFC 107 may be the last fight card of the year. The UFC usually saves it’s biggest event of the year for the last weekend of December, but will most likely move that card to January 2nd, 2010 because Christmas and New Years Day both fall on Fridays this year.
