Agreed, should be fun. Sonnen is tough on the ground, but I think Marquardt is better all-around. Dangerous fight for Nate though.

Marquart vs Sonnen will be a barn burner. Both have great standup and on the ground Sonnen is dangerous and aggressive. Yet, Marquart has a belt in bjj so he is also dangerous here…looking forward to this one..any “real” mma fan would be.

That’s why I said I don’t necessarily believe it. If they merge the WEC into the UFC then they’ll have enough fighters, but they’ll be stretched too thin. I don’t think they have enough staff, etc. to pull that off. I’m guessing an average of two per month…maybe 1 pay-per-view and one Spike “Fight Night” or some European “free” pay-per-view’s on Spike like UFC 105 is. Perhaps an occasional month where they have three events. I think that’s Dana exaggerating a bit there.

Wow 3 events a month??? How many are on ppv and how many on TV? ppv #’s may suffer no?

I agree that it’s stupid for the UFC to do this. However, if Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg does poorly, it’s mostly Strikeforce’s fault. Their promotion has been shameful, especially since Carano gives them some pop off the bat. The Diaz situation and the rest of the card falling apart a little also haven’t helped their situation

Man I really wish the UFC wouldn’t stoop to these levels. It’s a shame really. I know Dana and co have done great things for mma as long as the UFC brand is a part of it. These counter programmings just show that they only care about UFC and not mma as a whole. I really hope Strikeforce does well but I doubt it in this situation
