Anthony Johnson arrested for domestic violence June 27th
UFC Welterweight prospect Anthony Johnson was arrested on June 27th in California on charges of domestic battery, criminal threats, and destruction of a cell phone according to various sources. He was arrested after contacting police about the crime.
Johnson posted bail the same day and is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on July 17th. The charges are misdemeanors and are each punishable by up to a year in county jail. Police state that Johnson was cooperative.
Johnson is currently nursing a knee injury he suffered while training for a bout with Matt Brown which was cancelled. Johnson’s team hasn’t released a statement yet, but are expected to soon. As always, Johnson is innocent until proven guilty.
